Elemental Attack are parameters that are found on each element and increases the player's ATK and MATK stats against the elements they are effective against. See Elemental Relationships for the effectiveness of each element.

Non-elemental Weapon and Monster Gear will not increase any Elemental Attack. Element Advantage Boost buffs can temporarily increase Elemental Attack.

Total Elemental Attack for the Gear pieces a player has equipped and the ATK and MATK stats they have with these Gear pieces can be seen by pressing the [i] button on the Gear screen.

Guild Battles, Battle Colosseum, and other player-versus-player events are not affected by Elemental Attack.

Elemental DefenseEdit

Elemental Defense or Elemental Damage Reduction are parameters that are found on each element and decreases the damage done by attacks of the element which they are effective against. See Elemental Relationships for the effectiveness of each element. It is used to calculate how much damage is reduced against physical and magical attacks of certain elements. Higher Elemental Defense on a certain element will mean greater damage reduction for the element it is effective against. These parameters on Gear may vary depending on the Gear piece's availability and rarity.

Damage reduction against an element the Elemental Defense is effective against will mainly be against attacks from Monsters in Quests that have an element. Unison Attacks in Guild battles, Colosseum, and other player-versus-player scenarios will also be affected by Elemental Defense. Damage from regular Abilities in player-versus-player scenarios will not be reduced. Players' damage reduction figures may vary between Quests, Guild battles, the Colosseum, and other events.

The damage players will incur depends on their DEF and MDEF stats, elemental damage reduction, and various other factors, so the total Elemental Defense players have for a certain element itself is not the exact figure of damage reduction you will have against that element.

Elemental Defense will not affect fixed or proportional damage. (Example: attacks that reduce a player's HP by Attack Type 001 Icon Attack Type 002 Icon %, etc.)

NotesEdit

  • Some species of Limimin have the symbols of their Element on their forehead.
  • Spirit Orbs have the symbols of their Element within them. While the Non-elemental Element has no distinct symbol, the Gear-Void Spirit Orb Icon Void Spirit Orb appears to have a symbol resembling a Gear to represent its Element.
